DIY Face Masks

Your skin is exposed to everything in the environment, the foods you eat, cosmetics & cleansers.
Too much sun, cold and dryness can lead to leathery skin.
Cigarette smoking, poor cosmetics, cleansers, & moisturizers can lead to dry skin and wrinkles. What can you do to prevent premature aging?  A lot!!  Besides a seasonal detox I am sharing how to make Do It Yourself Face Masks with all natural ingredients that are so good for your skin.Oatmeal Honey Mask

  • 1/3 cup oatmeal
  • 1 egg white
  • 1–2 tablespoons honey

This mask is great for sensitive skin.
Oatmeal can gently exfoliate without irritating while honey is antimicrobial and moisturizing to help balance out the skin. For best results, consider pulsing oatmeal in a food processor first for a more consistent texture.
Mix together all ingredients and apply to the face. Let the mask set for 15–20 minutes before rinsing with warm water.

Lemon Yogurt Mask

  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon Greek yogurt

This mask works well if you’re prone to breakouts or have oily skin. The lemon juice works as a natural astringent, helping clean and refine pores. The baking soda helps exfoliate and remove dead skin cells while the yogurt offers both anti-aging and anti-acne benefits.
To prepare, thoroughly combine the ingredients in a bowl and apply to your face. Let the mask set for 15–20 minutes before rinsing with warm water.
This can be a more drying mask, so you may only want to do this a couple times a month.

Coconut Avocado Mask

  • 1/4 avocado
  • 1–2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon cocoa powder

This mask helps nourish the skin and keep it hydrated and smooth. The ingredients work together to support skin repair and reduce signs of fine lines.
For the best results, consider making it in a food processor or with a hand mixer – this will help create a consistent mask texture. Once it’s ready, apply to your face and let it set for 15–20 minutes before rinsing with warm water.

The nice thing about these masks is that they aren’t filled with harsh chemicals, tested on animals, or expensive to prepare. Although each of these masks may help support healthy skin, you may want to do a patch test if you have sensitive skin.

Do you have a favorite all natural face mask?  I’d love to hear what you do for your skin care routine.
