Benefits of Dandelion Tea
Dandelions have been used in folk medicine with many health benefits. There are two types of dandelion tea that are popular.  Leaves of used for infusion and roasted root of the plant. Both are safe and healthy if the plant hasn’t been sprayed with pesticides or insecticides. Let’s explore the health benefits of dandelion tea:

1. Reduces Water Weight

Dandelion tea can be used as a diuretic to help relieve bloat and fluid retention.

2.Soothes Digestive Ailments

Dandelion root tea can improve digestion.  Digestive ailments such as appetite and constipation can be relieved.

3.Promotes Liver Health

The roots of dandelions have been used as a liver tonic in folk medicine. Studies have shown to improve bile flow, improving liver detoxification. The tea also helps with skin and eye problems.

4.Potential Anti-Cancer Applications

Recent studies have also shown dandelion root has some potential cancer-fighting properties. Research has shown dandelion root extract may reduce melanoma and pancreatic cells without effecting the non-cancerous cells.

5.Substitute for Coffee

Dandelion roots of the young plant can be roasted to a dark brown color and be brewed into a coffee like beverage which can be used as an effective substitute for coffee.   

6.Urinary Tract Infections

Clients have had success with pairing dandelion and the anti-bacterial herb uva ursi  to help prevent urinary tract infections.Possible Side Effects

Dandelion is safe for most of the people, although some people may have allergic reactions.
